Every time we get ready to travel it is the same old routine.
1) Have we been upgraded to first class?
2) Do our coach seats have the extra leg room?
3) What will the weather be like when we take off?
4) What will the weather be like when we arrive?
5) Carry on or checked luggage (I like to take my fat sizes with me everywhere)?
6) What time are we leaving for the airport?
7) Are we eating first before we board?
8) Where is my check-list of must-haves, jewelry, extra eye glasses, meds, knitting?
9) Is the flight on time?
10) Were there any last minute flight cancellations?
Thank goodness we have the TSA Pre✓™ so we don’t have to stand on the long and winding security lines. But every once in a while, I don’t clear, so we leave ourselves plenty of time anyway to get to the gate. I guess the point of my post is that it doesn’t matter if you fly only once in a while or you are on an airplane several times a month like us, you still have some level of anxiety getting from one place to another.
That is why I was particularly interested in a new app I heard about called Airport Life. It helps make the entire process of traveling easier just by organizing the To-Do list. The app was created by a senior airline captain named Dan Stratman, who has close to 25 years of experience. The app, for both Android and iPhone, is a one-stop shop with every bit of info you may need for your traveling convenience including your flight itinerary, hotel, rental car, or cruise. There are also comprehensive airport maps and detailed facts about 113 airports around the world like gates, stores, places to eat, trams, and rest rooms. The app also covers weather on departure and at your destination, travel warnings, and time zones.
Airport Life also has a social media aspect to it. You have the option to share info with other users. Everyone chips in with last minute gate changes, flight delays, and conditions of each airplane. I can’t begin to tell you how many times my seat didn’t recline, my light didn’t turn on, or the water didn’t work in the bathrooms. There is also an option to update family and friends.
There is a premium version with lots of other features, but you have to click here to find out what they are.
