Marijuana Key Social Factor with Older Americans

This is a post about getting high, but not high tech as I usually pound away about. There was a tweet that I caught earlier that pointed to a New York Times story that said yes, indeed, more older Americans are using marijuana in social situations.

It seems that many baby boomers have picked up old habits or perhaps they never gave them up. One thing is for sure, there are statistics that show “the joint” is becoming a favorite hors d’oeuvre at more and more senior parties. One of the reasons for the increase use of pot is that empty nesters feel they are finally “free” to do whatever the heck they want to.

I never smoked pot when I was younger. Never had the yen for it as much as I desired a piece of chocolate or a bowl of ice cream.

I must say if seniors want to smoke pot where it’s legal, go for it. While I would like to relax as much as the next old fart, I don’t want to be in a room with people who get high and use that as an excuse to get stupid.

Read all about it here.
