I have always been a Peeping Tom. I can spend hours looking out my window into the lives of others. I did it as a kid too. My bedroom window growing up had a bird’s eye view of the neighborhood. I knew the comings and goings of everyone.
I daydreamed for hours. Other than the shower, I did my best thinking looking out the window. That is all part of being a New Yorker. You get the best ideas from watching other people.
Tonight I was inspired by two guys exercising to a fitness tape, several people typing away on their computers, and a mother reading a story to her child from an iPad.
There is usually a naked guy standing on his terrace, or in his picture window,
talking on his cell. He does wear a baseball cap. Everything else is hanging out for all to see. He is the talk of East 62nd Street. Everyone on my side of the building has seen this guy many times. Many of my friends often visit me to catch a glimpse of him.
I can’t get away from technology. Even when I look out my window. There is no escape.

If you recall Lois, I had the same view from my window as you did, only 2 floors lower! Yes, I watched the comings and goings as well, and that’s probably why I still look out my window today in Queens. Just a habit, I guess. Enjoy the view!
