Guess where I am? Right after work, we drove out to Hampton Bays to meet my brother Steve and sister-in-law Susan to celebrate his birthday, a biggie. Susan and Steve love The Inn Spot, a gourmet restaurant and Inn that sits right on the bay, a short walk from the ocean.

We are thrilled to be spending the evening with them. We have a pre-set French dinner planned for us. My nephew Sam and his wife Mara will be joining us for dessert.

Evenings like this are very special. The owners of the Inn, Colette and Pam, are friendly with Susan and Steve, so of course we will be given special treatment. The personal touch in the days of the Internet, when everything can feel so isolated and cold, is a rare and wonderful experience.
