I have a friend who doesn’t exist on the Internet. He is bland as bland can be, yet he still refuses to put any of his identification online. He once warned me, “Once you are on, you can’t get off.” I thought about it for a while and realized it was too late for me. What was he afraid of? Probably nothing. He has led such an unblemished life that any attention would seem like a scandal to him.

I have spent hours today trying to find evidence of something I heard on 1010 WINS all-news radio in New York. Yes, I listen to the CBS station when I am in Miami. There is an app for that.
The radio broadcaster who was one of the first to announce the death of Mayor Ed Koch on WINS this morning also said that most people didn’t know it but the Mayor was an inventor of some auto technology and actually patented it.
You never know who can post a picture of you on Facebook.
If you ever want to dissect someone’s personality, check out that person’s profile and postings on Facebook. Researchers at the University of Missouri claim Facebook profiles could be used as insight into mental health issues.

I will never forget the day I first saw Hugh Hefner’s private office. We were doing work for PIayboy Video and we visited their Chicago headquarters for a meeting. We were on a break so I decided to scout out Hef’s desk. The door to his office was opened but I was afraid to walk in. Standing at the entrance was enough for me to imagine the shenanigans that went on in there. I was thrilled, however, to be breathing the same air as that publishing genius. We get to a certain age and we start to wonder how many years do we have left to fulfill our dreams? Since I started DigiDame, I have noticed that many seniors are getting cranky because time is running out.

YouTube wants to make lots of money. First sign of maturity. Google is tired of financing it. My sources tell me that the financials are still being worked out but YouTube wants paid subscriptions for individual channels.
YouTube wants content providers to offer channels that subscribers would have to pay anywhere between $1 and $5 a month. Of course, this would only hold true for content companies that have already demonstrated the ability to build and maintain a large presence on the video site (aka multichannel networks like Fullscreen, Machinima, and Maker Studios).
YouTube is also considering charging for content libraries and live events.
Revenue will be shared between all parties.
This is still only in discussions. Sounds like a great opportunity for video producers to make some money.
