I know you are going to think I am talking about “funny money,” but I am not. There is actually an Internet currency called Bitcoin. It’s totally digital, no paper, no coins.

My Brain Hurts Just Thinking About This
The great thing about being in tech is that you get to read news sites that tell you all about new breakthroughs in all areas of life. Here is some startling news that everyone should know about.
There is a new technique to make tissues transparent so that scientists can get a three-dimensional view of neural networks. This is great news for the medical community who wants to map the brain’s complicated wiring. Scientists could use the technique to view large networks of neurons with ease and accuracy. The technology also opens up new research avenues.
The video explains it better.

Searching for Intelligent Life on the Internet

Cher, Margaret Thatcher
Rumors that Cher died on April 8th were a Twitter blunder. Margaret Thatcher died last Monday. However, when some Twitter users used the hashtag #nowthatchersdead (now Thatcher’s dead) to let others know about the British Prime Minister’s death, it was misread by loyal Cher fans (now that Cher’s dead) who freaked. Hundreds of thousands went into instant mourning.
For those of you who do not use Twitter, let me remind you that the hashtag # is used on Tweets so that everyone talking about the same topic can search for comments on the subject. This is usually a very civilized format.
RIP Margaret Thatcher
Long Live Cher
Barry Diller Gets Foxy
Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller I find it interesting that Barry Diller, husband of Diane von Furstenberg, is putting the royal screws to a company he headed up for eight years. Diller served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FOX from 1984 to 1992. He was responsible for the creation of Fox Broadcasting Company in addition to FOX’s motion picture operations. Social Media Gets Too Social
The cartoon above was meant as a joke, but as far as I am concerned that is exactly the direction we are headed. Technology today allows users to share info with others more than ever before. Every company and service wants in on the action. Continue reading
Your Dreams May No Longer Be Private
After all these years, your dreams may be broadcasted in a public forum. Japanese scientists have developed an algorithm that reveals what dreamers see from their neurological patterns.
Robots Test For Chemical Agents
The constant threats from North Korea to nuke the United States is giving many baby boomers a very uneasy feeling. That’s why it is always so important for the United States never to let its guard down. We can’t let 9/11 happen again.
This is Totally Silly
Click here for one of the silliest apps ever. It’s called “Singing Carl” and all it does is sing a few words you record into the mic.
Singing Carl repeats anything you say with a funny voice. He can also be poked or pinched and tickle him to make him laugh out loud.
There are days in our mature life that we should just get a little silly. Mix it up. Regain your youth by acting like a carefree teenager. You can fool yourself for a few minutes.
Walgreens To Offer Primary Care
One of the big topics on social media this past weekend was Walgreens’ move into primary care. I am happy about it. As an upwardly-mobile person who is becoming a full-fledged member of the senior citizen generation, it comforts me to know that if I don’t feel well help is just a few blocks away, no matter where I am in the United States.
Walgreens will have nurse practitioners and physician assistants at more than 300 “Take Care Clinics” in 18 states. They will write prescriptions, refer patients for additional tests and help manage chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
