Virtual Reality Enters Real Estate

If you want to know more about the potential of virtual reality in real estate, watch CNBC’s Power Lunch’s feature on the topic. Two Million Dollar Listing Brokers, New York and Miami, share their opinions.

Shopping for new digs will never be the same. The world of virtual reality is slowly becoming increasingly popular in real estate offices all over the United States.

A real estate broker friend of mine, Juan Carlos  Zapata, of Douglas Elliman, Fort Lauderdale, FL, got his first taste of what it will be like to use a VR headset in order to sell condos and homes in far away places.

Potential buyers will be able to take a virtual tour of real estate properties without leaving the comfort of the broker’s office. It’s just like being on location. You get to walk and see each room in a 3D atmosphere. Some people get a little woozy with the headset on, but JC said he didn’t have a problem.

Watch his experience below.

My Mother Racked Up “90 Likes” And Beautiful Comments On Facebook

Every Thursday is throw back Thursday on Facebook, #TBT. I posted a picture of my mother with Muhammad Ali this week. It received over “90 Likes ” and some wonderful comments.

My mother had hundreds of friends. She was a people collector. She would have loved Facebook. Thank you everyone.

Waterpik Press Tour

It was an amazing day at Hearst Magazines in NYC. HWH PR arranged a media day for Waterpik Water Flossers at Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Redbook and Elle. I led the tour with Richard Bisson, CEO, Water Pik. Our mission was to spread the word on the importance of good oral health care. We met incredible editors and had the fortunate opportunity to tour the Good Housekeeping Institute where they test products for the Seal of Approval.

Arghhhh

I can’t take it anymore. Everytime I click on a digital story, I get interrupted by an advertisement. It pops up out of nowhere. It drives me crazy.

Sometimes, I even lose the story while trying to close the ad. That means I have to start all over. I once figured it out. Pop up ads can add 30 seconds on to accessing every story.

Does that happen to you?

Q

Say Hello To Baby Juanita

The following email is from our Smartours tour guide in Colombia, South America. We toured the country last September. Leon Pardo lives in Bogata with his wife Diana and his baby Juanita. Everyone on the tour fell in love with Leon because he was just a “gute neshome,” Yiddish for good soul.

He was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to provide unique experiences for all of us. Leon’s wife was in the last stages of pregnancy when we were touring. We just wanted to send a gift when the baby arrived.

It took us a little longer than expected because we were concerned about safe mail delivery. It turned out to be a lot easier than we thought. Leon is on tour now, but sent us this thank you email. We were so thrilled to reconnect with him. Thank you for emails and social media. We will stay friends forever.

Just for the record, Colombia was one of the best places we ever visited. Yes, Leon had a lot to do with it.

I Can Finally See You

I think older folks have gone FaceTime crazy. They just love the idea of talking face-to-face with loved ones.

Some of my friends are on FaceTime several times a day. The problem is that when they call me, I can barely see them. Why do they wait until they get into some dark, dingy place before dialing me?

I want to tell them about Chatlight, a light that has LED technology with  over 50,000 hours of use and/or you can go up to 90 minutes on a single charge.

Chatlight fits perfectly on any smartphone, tablet or laptop and desktop computers. It can be plugged in to a standard wall outlet or any USB port.

It retails for $29.99 on Amazon.

Modular Pod Tents Form New Trend In Camping

I thought folks would love this new invention. I’m getting a very mixed reaction. People go camping to be alone. Not to mingle.

Yet, M2C Innovation of the United Kingdom, created POD Tents, a group of tents that are secured together to create a camping compound. Lots of campers can sleep under one connected roof.

I love this idea because I can be in the great outdoors, yet feel safe in a crowd. The modular camping system consists of individual tents that can be zipped together with connector tunnels. This allows you to create a large interior space where you can hang out with your friends and family.

Watch the video for this great new idea.

POD Maxi eight-person tent retails at $780 and the POD Mini four-person tent at $625. The tunnel goes for $140. You can make your purchase here.

And in other news…...

Collar Perfect

There were more times than I care to remember when I couldn’t wear a particular sweater or blouse because the hanger it was stored on left bumps in the shoulder areas or creases in the collar.

I tried to smooth them out with my fingers but it never worked. I was always too lazy to actually heat up an iron and straighten the garment. I would just pick something else to wear.

Sometimes I would spot others with the same problem. I used to wonder what kind of a person would leave the house wearing a sweater sporting bumps in all the wrong places? Another lazy nut.

I don’t have to worry about this anymore.

Say hello to Collar Perfect, a tiny touch up and travel iron. It’s so small, I can fit it into my purse.

The Collar Perfect is perfect for fast touch ups. It doesn’t seem like much of an effort to take the The Collar Perfect out of a medicine cabinet or vanity shelf and start ironing away

Heart Attack And Water

Here we go again. Another bit of advice from my friend Ed Stravitz. I was supposed to pass this email along to 10 people in order not to get  jinxed. I decided to do better than that. I’m sending it to all of you.

Why? Because I believe drinking water is good for you. I take no responsibility for the true results of Ed’s advice.
MAYO CLINIC – DRINKING WATER
A cardiologist determined that heart attacks can be triggered by dehydration.

How many folks do you know who say they don’t want to drink anything before going to bed because they’ll have to get up during the night?
Heart Attack and Water – Drinking one glass of water before going to bed avoids stroke or heart attack. Interesting…….

Something else I didn’t know … I asked my Doctor why people need to urinate so much at night time.
Answer from my Cardiac Doctor: Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body (legs and etc) seeks level with the kidneys. It is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier. .

Correct time to drink water… Very Important. From A Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body:

2 glasses of water after waking up – helps activate internal organs

1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion

1 glass of water before taking a bath – helps lower blood pressure

1 glass of water before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack

My Physician told me that water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.

Mayo Clinic on Aspirin – Dr. Virend Somers is a Cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic who is the lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon. Having one aspirin during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.

 1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night.

The Reason: Aspirin has a 24-hour “half-life,” therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the Aspirin would be strongest in your system.

2. Aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest; for years. (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar).

Please read on.

Something that we can do to help ourselves – nice to know. Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets.

Why keep Aspirin by your bedside? It’s about Heart Attacks – There are other symptoms of a heart attack, besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating; however, these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack.

The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep. If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

A Cardiologist has stated that if each person after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life could be saved!

“Life is a one time gift” (Let’s forward and hope this will help save some!!!)
