Indiegogo Adds Retailing

Surprising news from the world of crowdfunding. Indiegogo, an international crowdfunding website that was founded in 2008,  has announced today that they are going into the retail business. Called “Indiegogo Marketplace,” the site will sell products that were crowdfunded on their site, as well as from other platforms.

If you think about it, it’s a natural progression. Many products that were successfully introduced can’t find retail distribution. Indiegogo will now provide them with a place to get started sales wise. I think this is very exciting. Startups will now get a terrific head start to see if the American public really wants their product.

Indiegogo will take between 10 percent, or 15 percent, of the sale price of the product.

No word from Kickstarter so far, but friends close to the company say they are not interested in becoming a retailer on any level.

I wonder how many of us will be buying product from Indiegogo in the future?

A Possible Solution For Hot Flashes

I found this innovative product on Indiegogo, the crowd-funding site. I made special note of it because I thought this was a great idea. Americans noticed it too because it was fully-funded. The Zero Breeze,  the world’s first personal, portable, smart, multifunctional air conditioner, will be available early next year at approximately $350.00.

The Zero Breeze is also a bluetooth speaker, a night light, and a smartphone charging station. You have to love this product.

I am constantly with women, ages 50 to 80, who are getting over-heated. They are so uncomfortable, that I start to not  feel well too. If we are at a party, in a meeting, or even at the beach, it would be wonderful to watch those who sweat easily, cool off.

The Zero Breeze is capable of cooling a 50 square feet room down to 44 ℉. Using a rotary compressor, the unit can be plugged-in, or used by the battery pack. If the Zero Breeze does three-quarters of what it claims, bravo!

Just In Case

Somebody up there must like me. I’m finally going to get the one feature I always felt was missing from the iPhone. A company in Tel Aviv, called Just in Case, is introducing a case for the iPhone that can record any call as well as any in-person conversation. I  have been complaining for years that Apple never allowed me to record any of my calls on the iPhone.

Maybe Steve Jobs wanted it that way for legal reasons, but that didn’t help me record detailed information that was being dictated to me. Most states allow a call to be recorded if both sides are in agreement.

Just In Case is presently raising money on the crowd sourcing site, Indiegogo. The case is designed for IPhone 5 and above and features an internal recording device that will allow me to record a phone call or in-person conversation without connecting to an app or an external recording source. Yippee.

All audio files are stored on a 2GB microSD card. The storage files can be expanded. A built-in battery provides up to eight hours of recording time. The best news is that the case does not draw power from the iPhone. It has its own charging port.

The cases, slated for May,  will be available in red, blue, yellow, black, and white. Retail should be around $29.00.

Bring it on!!!!
