When the director of the Ocean Nova, our expedition vessel in Greenland, announced we were having a BBQ for dinner one night, I imagined that the chefs would cook outside, and then serve the meal in the dining room.

Wrong!

We actually had the BBQ on the top (outside) deck surrounded by icebergs and snowy mountains. It was only 40 degrees outside so all of the passengers were quite warm in their custom Parkers and knee-high rubber boots.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My photos document it.

It’s so nice to travel to Iceland and Greenland with our Miami pals: a cruise ship architect, a medical doctor, a commercial architect and most important, an IT specialist. A complete joy.

We are staying at The Retreat, Blue Lagoon for one $1,000 night. No tipping, hahaha.

Eliot and I saw Downton Abbey, the movie, tonight. We really enjoyed it. It was very well done. We saw it in Miami and my friend, Erica Goldberg, watched it in Northern Florida. Her description below really nails it.

My friend Shelly Palmer, not a huge Apple fan, wrote a great piece on the new products the company introduced this week. There were many surprises. All I can say is that I want an iPhone with a camera that takes photos from several angles. Whoa, that’s for me.
