I spend so much of my time trying to figure out why some people like, and voted for, our current president. It mystifies me. They all give me different reasons why they think Donald Trump is a great President. I have trouble refuting their claims because I am not well versed on the accomplishments they credit Trump for.
I need your help. I would like you to watch the Jordan video and give me your opinion on his remarks. Educate me on email. I want to be able to debate every point. Please help me to help others who are confused or misguided.
I recently read a book by James Patterson called “The Store,” which was loosely based on Amazon. The story was about how a company like Amazon can completely take over your personal life. You might as well be a robot.
Amazon will know when your groceries have to be replaced, what you like to eat, what movies you like to watch, what books you need to read, what clothes you want to wear, on and on. Bottom line, you won’t be able to live without them. They will dictate how you live, and who they want you to be.
It’s not going to happen soon, but it could within a few years. A case in point is the fact that Amazon is now reportedly planning to open dozens of grocery stores in major cities around the country. They could force your neighborhood convenience store right out-of-business.
The new Amazon food store will carry a wider selection of non-organic products than Whole Foods. The store will be smaller than most traditional supermarkets, but somehow Amazon will know just the right products to stock for you.
As time goes on, some of us learn the deep, dark secrets of dear friends and family. It’s horrifying to find out that people we know have been sexually assaulted. Many of them never report the offenders to the authorities.
I always wondered why people keep these terrible offensives to themselves. Most claim they were too ashamed, confused, and scared to admit the attacks. That may seem ridiculous to us, but unless we had that experience, we will never know how it feels.
Sexual assaults must be reported and stopped. I was so happy to learn that there are two apps that allow victims to report crimes anonymously.
One is called JDoe, and the other is Callisto. Users are urged to tell all when incidents occur. They should report where it took place and the name of the perpetrators. The details are stored in an encrypted database. Both apps scan for patterns. Legal experts immediately intervene and determine if further action needs to be taken.
Watch the video above. NBC Nightly News provides further details how this technology works and how it helps prevent sexual attacks.
My posse and I (starting left and going around the circle: Mary, Martha, Marcia, Richie, Lois and Eliot) went to the Cabaret South Beach, Shelborne Hotel tonight and discovered a star. Her name is Janae Catt and she can belt out one heck of a powerful song.
I created two videos for you to hear Janae.
When we first arrived at the Cabaret, I really thought it was going to be a bust. A lot of the singers were okay but nothing to make us want to stay. When Janae came on, she really made the entire audience feel energized. Mary and Martha started to dance and others joined them. It made the place rock.
We started off the evening at Leynia, an Argentinian restaurant in the Delano. Quite a spot for young people watching. The outfits, or lack of them, were complete head turners.
Your favorite toy from your childhood is about to become a movie. A reporter friend of mine said that Mattel is going to make a family adventure featuring the View-Master in the world of virtual reality. From what I understand, the turn and click device will be the gateway into worlds most of us have never seen. That’s all he would tell me.
In case you forgot, the View-Master is a stereoscopic eye device that shows 3D images. You can see landscapes, tourist destinations, movies and TV shows. All you had to do was push down the lever on the side of the device and then you got to see a new image.
The reason why Mattel is anxious to do the movie is because the company believes it will revive sales of the toy company.
I just found a Hollywood Reporter story that talks about this topic too. Click here.

Miami’s New Hotspot
If you visit Miami, make sure you go to the Vista restaurant. A special treat! Here we are with Ruth and Howard.
If it’s Sunday, you will find many Mexican seniors in the park dancing like they were in their 20s. It was remarkable to watch. I hope there are places in the United States where seniors experience such joy.
I’m sure by now you have heard about the foldable cell phone concept. Everyone is talking about it as the hot new feature in smartphones. If you remember, I wrote about it when i told you about the Royole’s FlexPai foldable phone. Click here to see what I wrote.
Since that post, the Samsung Galaxy Fold was introduced. Everyone waited for this product with great anticipation. I read that many members of the tech industry panned it big time.
It turns out that the foldable concept hasn’t lived up to its promise. Everyone thought they were going to have a small unit that would expand to a device almost the size of a tablet.
The reviews so far say:
1-Not good looking. In fact, some say ugly.
2-Prices are too high. Anywhere from $1,300 to $1,900.
3-Too bulky.
4-Many retailers haven’t committed.
Oh well, back to the drawing boards.
My friend Rob Stott really sums it up in Dealerscope. Click here.
We visited the home of Rodrigo Feliz, a well known art collector in Mexico City. As I stood in his stunning home, I couldn’t help but think that the last thing I would want was to build a wall that would separate me from all the wonderful people we met during the last few days. From the staff at the hotel, to patrons of the arts, most have been the kind of folks you would be lucky to get in any neighborhood.
Rodrigo was completely elegant. He was soft-spoken, yet very authoritative. You can tell that he is the type who has most details in his life well organized. That’s why his townhouse was impeccable, every detail well thought out. You almost wanted to move in and see what it was like to live in complete splendor.
This home was definitely high up on the list of the most magnificent places I have ever seen.
