A Facebook Marriage Proposal

I wish I could have included the video, of my friend Adam Becker, proposing to his girl friend Tracey, at the Long Island, NY, gym, where they met. They may have met at a different gym, but why ruin a good story. The entire proposal was documented on Facebook.

I was flabbergasted when I saw Adam, walk over to his girlfriend, kneel down, and propose, while she was working out on a weight machine. It was picture perfect. They both are fitness fanatics, and there couldn’t have been a better place for their formal commitment to each other to start.

While there are many complaints about Facebook lately, I can honestly say, this marriage proposal, is what the social media platform, was intended for. It is a place where people can share milestones and hopes and dreams. Bravo to Adam who made his life a magical journey when he decided to devote his physical and mental energies on himself.

Mazel Tov to Tracey and Adam. We share in your joy.

Fine Artist Allen Hirsch Reveals His Hidden Talent

Thank you Judy Graham for sharing this.

RCA Victor, (which stood for the Radio Corporation of America) was once located at 1510 North Vine Street –  between NBC Studios and the Brown Derby. Photo date is 1953. Recording artists at this time included:  Freddy Martin, Sammy Kaye, Spike Jones, Perry Como, Vaughn Monroe, Tony Martin and Tommy Dorsey.

I have no idea what this is, but it’s a beauty.

It was our great fortune, that day in Miami 25 years ago, when we met Elaine Bloom, President and CEO of Plaza Health Network. (Formerly Florida State Representative). Along with her husband, Judge Philip Bloom, we have all been very close. Elaine is one amazing woman. Plaza Health sponsored the Women Of Distinction luncheon we attended this past week.

What Makes A Painting Worth Millions

My first introduction into the world of art came from Richard Ekstract, the publisher of a chain of tech publications. I worked for him for three years (1974 to 1977) and, at the time, was exposed to some of the most bizarre art you have ever seen. He collected ultra, contemporary art pieces. I loved every one of them because they represented his creativity to me.

I never quite understood the world of art even though Eliot and I have bought a fair amount of moderately-priced paintings and sculptures over the years. I have always questioned who establishes the price of art, why do some artists succeed, while others falter, and how did certain collectors get so rich.

You have to watch the HBO special “The Price Of Everything.” It will answer many of the questions we all have.

The following artists are featured in the documentary: Richter, Jeff Koons, George Condo, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Marilyn Minter and Larry Poons, as well as art-world insiders Stefan Edlis, Jerry Saltz, Amy Cappellazzo, Ed Dolman, Margaret Lee and others.

You owe it to yourself to watch this film. It’s so right on.

Printed Photos Are In Vogue

Life is so mysterious. We work like crazy to advance ourselves to the digital world only to desire what we had before. Introducing the KiiPix Smartphone Picture Printer.

I am definitely going to buy one, or maybe, two or three. At $39.99, it makes the perfect gift, especially for children who rarely see printed photos.

All you have to do is place your phone on top of the KiiPix and push a button. Before you do that, you can adjust photos with a filter contrast option, or add all kinds of funny trimmings. After you achieve the photo that you want, you press the button for the print option. It rolls right out. It couldn’t be easier.

Buy the KiiPix on Amazon. For more information, click below.

GM Is Getting Into E-Bike Biz

General Motors is getting very serious about helping city dwellers, get from point A to point B, without typical major transportation or problems.

The American car manufacturer is actually going to introduce two electric bikes early next year.

One bicycle will be a compact, the other will fold. No details on features and pricing. This is just a heads up.

While GM engineers are designing the bicycles, the company still doesn’t have a brand name.

If you are interested in creating one for the car company, click here.
