I guess you already heard the news. Alexa is invading our homes.
First we had a speaker that responded to our commands for music, news, audio books, and all kinds of information. Now, it was just announced that new versions of Alexa will be connected to microwave ovens, wall clocks and other household appliances.
Hold on. I just found out that we will also be able to use Alexa to talk to folks over Skype.
Microsoft and Amazon have agreed to incorporate Skype into Alexa. That’s means you will be able to access Skype on Amazon’s Echo. Can you imagine sitting in a chair and just simply requesting a call? What’s even more amazing is that Amazon’s Echo will feature a video calling system. That is incredible.
Alexa is changing our lives.
Read about it in Verge.

I can’t figure it out. Why do some people want to go backwards. I have friends who are collecting vinyl records and now use cameras that give you instant printed pictures. We worked so long, and hard, to go digital, and now the purists want to prove older technology is better.
Kodak recently announced that it is partnering with retailer Forever 21 for a 26-piece collection — T-shirts, crop tops, jackets, loungewear, polos, and sweatshirts. This is all in an attempt to get young audiences familiar with the Kodak name.
The current Kodak has nothing to do with the giant film company. The new Kodak is following in the footsteps of Urban Outfitters which features Fujifilm’s instant-printing Instax camera. The new Polaroid who also has its own instant camera.
I know a few college students who love having an instant camera so they can print pictures on the spot. It’s novel to them, but not to us. They think they are cool, but in my opinion, it’s a fad that will not last. The digital world is much cheaper, and much more efficient.
